Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB)

Empty Fruit Bunch is the byproduct left after the oil extraction process of oil palm fruits. It is a fibrous and bulky material that is commonly used as compost or mulch due to its high fiber and nutrient-rich properties. However, due to its abundance, EFB is seeing more utilization in the production of biogas and biofuels. It is considered to be the most difficult material to pelletize, but as a renewable resource, EFB offers a sustainable alternative fuel source to traditional materials such as coal and natural gas.
